The Orphans developed from a postcard given to me as a child by my mother, at the time it conveyed to me a great sense of comfort and security. With the central character, a small boy kneeling in prayer, the paintings follow a symbolic narrative, continuing my exploration on the theme of absence in childhood and characterized by the child as a solitary figure, reflective in a universal meditation of hope.
