Alice in Wonderland is known by most people not only to be unique in its narrative but to have such a point of difference that it commands interpretation. Inspired by the Czech animator Jan Svankmayer’s film Alice, this exhibition Walking with Alice proposes separate psychological arenas (within the gallery space), looking at three artist’s expressions of the unconscious/conscious self, whilst pertaining to the imaginary world of Alice in Wonderland.
Co-curated with Dr Mary Knights, Senior Curator of Art Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery.
