October – November
For the 2018 Australian Tapestry Workshop Residency, I produced a small project titled: MeetMyMum. This body of work incorporated a range of ATW wool, beads and various other materials which aimed to express (through pattern), the primary theme of complex relationships, in particular the importance of the mother/infant, inter-subjective relationship. My key ideas developed a life-cycle of the common house fly as a perfect form and metaphor to re-imagine the mother’s emotional and psychological proximity to the child.
