Tools for Life

Pilgrimage to Imago (Journey to the mother/’self’/fly) is an open, ongoing project in 26 stages (13 in Australia and 13 in the UK). Together the stages extend a strong psychoanalytical context to the building of a symbolic primordial mother figure.

Working across a range of media these imagined stages become ‘assets’, objects formed as Tools for Life which aid and transition aspects of lived experience. Negotiating conscious/unconscious brain states with key distinctions and patterns of information, the assets embody and support the ongoing memory of an ever present past.
