Tools for Life

Pilgrimage to Imago (Journey to the Mother/’Self’/Fly) is an open, ongoing project in 26+ stages, starting with the original 13 stages in Australia and 13 in the UK. These stages collectively explore the formation of a symbolic primordial mother figure (idealised) within a strong psychoanalytical context. Through various media, these imagined stages become ‘assets’—objects designed as ‘Tools for Life’ that aid aspects of lived experience, although non-functioning in essence, they negotiate conscious and unconscious brain patterns and highlight aspects of information that support and embody the ongoing memory of an ever-present past.
